SAMBA, Dec 3: District Police Samba foiled two bovine smuggling bids at different places of Samba district including Supwal and Ghagwal near here, today.
According to the Police, as per reliable sources information, a team of Ghagwal Police Station headed by Inspector, Rajeev Kumar, SHO PS, Ghagwal under the direct supervision of DySP Headquarter Samba, Deepak Digra, laid a nakka on Jammu Pathankot National Highway near Tapyal under the jurisdiction of Ghagwal Police Station.
During the checking of the vehicles police intercepted truck bearing registration No JK02AT- 5725 which was coming from Kathua side and found 13 cattle laden in it. They were being illegally transported. Police rescued all the cattle and seized the vehicle on spot and also arrested the driver of the vehicle namely Amandeep Singh, son of Parminder Singh resident of Simbal Camp Jammu.
In this regard police has taken cognizance the matter and started investigation.
Similarly, a team of Police Post, Supwal under the jurisdiction of Police Station, Samba also foiled bovine smuggling bid and rescued five cattle from load carrier auto at Supwal in district Samba today.
According to the Police, a team of Police Post, Supwal laid nakka checking at Jammu -Pathankot National Highway near Supwal in district Samba this morning and intercepted one Auto load carrier bearing temporary No JMU AN- 9901. It recovered five bovine animals. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place and seized the vehicle which was illegally transporting the bovines without permission and also arrested the driver of the vehicle namely Abdul Majid, son of Ghulam Rasool resident of Dhawara Jammu.
In this regard police has taken cognizance the matter and started investigation.
The nakas to curb the bovine smuggling via the district were laid on the directives of SSP, Samba Dr Koushal Sharma.
