KATHUA, Dec 4: A yet another stone crusher being operated illegally in Marheen area of Hiranagar Sub Division in district Kathua was sealed by the District Administration this evening.
Official sources said that a team of officers headed by DMO Kathua, BR Bhagat and concerned Tehsildar (Marheen), assisted by police party from Police Station Hiranagar/ PP Chadwal on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rohit Khajuria raided the premises of M/s Bharat Stone Crusher which was running illegally at the bank of a tributary of river Ujh at village Kishanpur Kandi in tehsil Marheen of district Kathua this evening.
The unit is owned by Kewal Krishan Gupta from Kathua. The operators/manager failed to produce the documents/ NOCs etc from the concerned authorities under SRO 302. Even they did not have permission from the concerned DC/ Revenue Officer and PCB.
Upon this, the team after communication with the Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, sealed the unit along with excavators and also snapped its power supply.
The Magistrate Ist Class, accompanying the team, also registered a case against owner of the stone crusher under the relevant sections of the Act. The owner /manager of the unit was directed on the spot not to operate the Unit till further orders and produce documents as early as possible.
