Army, civilians hold joint bhandara

JAMMU, Jan 25: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Sarh orgnaised a Bhandara at Shikari, for the civilians as part of Winning Hearts and Minds (WHAM) under the aegis of sector Headquarters of Rashtriya Rifles.
The Bhandara was organised jointly by the local Hindus as part of Puja in the village temple. The Army post co-located at Shikari extended all possible help to the locals in organising the event.
The unit regularly organises Iftaar Parties for locals during the holy month of Ramzan. Similarly, Bhandaras are also organised for the Hindu community who live in the far flung areas.
The local Sarpanchs while addressing the gathering thanked the Commanding Officer of Rashtriya Rifles Battalion located at Sarh for his assistance in organising the event.
Shikari is  a small hamlet in Mahore Sub Division of Reasi district which is approximately 180 Km from Jammu.
