MUMBAI May 5: On the 3rd day of ongoing exhibition of Paintings and Sculptures by Jammites, Rohit Verma, Milan Sharma and Vikas Khajuria at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai wherein Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, world renowned Santoor maestro was the chief guest.
It was inaugurated by Dr Chandra Prakash Diwvedi, eminent thinker, theatre and film director on May 2 and dazzled by the outstanding creative works from the artists of his native place J&K, Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma disclosed that there is no dearth of talent in any stream of art in J&K and Milan Sharma’s work is the testimony of that.
Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma lauded the innovative approach of Vikas Khajuria in the sculptures weaved in contemporary idiom. About Rohit Verma’s paintings he expressed that these paintings have taken me back to my roots [Jammu] which are very impressive and inspiring to musicians.
Sharma stayed there for almost one hour in the exhibition and very keenly yet meticulously listened to the articulations of trio artists. He was in his candid expressions moved by the artistic package from Jammu and felt the fragrance of soil in the creations.
It needs to mention here that Ghanshyam Vaswani, eminent ghazal singer and singer of Bollywood was the guest of honour today.
