JAMMU, Dec 7: The activists of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) held a protest demonstration here, today and took out a rally from CID Park Canal to Dogra Chowk expressing their anger over delaying the implementation of PM’s job and rehabilitation package for displaced Pandit youth.
Led by R K Bhat, president, YAIKS a large number of unemployed displaced youth joined the rally demanding immediate implementation of PM’s job package and announcement of another 3000 posts by Central Government for the left over displaced youth.
Shouting slogans in support of their demands the protesters said that they were cheated by the successive Governments on the name of PM employment package for over last 10 years now.
Addressing the rally president, YAIKS, R K Bhat termed the PM’s package a cruel joke with the displaced community in general and exiled youth in particular. He reiterated his demand of restructuring, redesigning and reviewing of PM’s Return and Rehabilitation Package after a dialogue with YAIKS.
He said KPs desire to return to Valley is doubted by the authorities at the helm of affairs. He wanted to know that how long the Pandits who are indigenous people of Kashmir will lead an exiled life and remain away from their motherland.
Bhat, while highlighting the demands that one family be given one job as every displaced family has suffered a lot due to turmoil said healing touch scheme should be implemented on exiled Pandits also.
He demanded that the community youth should be adjusted against the 25,000 KP employees posts who retired over the years. Moreover immediately the appointment orders be issued for selected candidates who have been kept in abeyance unnecessarily.
Bhat also demanded one time compensation for over-aged youth of the community, recruitment process of displaced youth be handed over to some independent body instead of SSRB and Relief Organization, the selection be made on basis eligibility of candidates and qualification under PM’s rehabilitation scheme, removal of SC,ST, OBC, ALC categories as this does not apply to KPs and reservation of three to five percent jobs in Central Government for the community youth.
The YAIKS also made an appeal to Governor to fulfill his commitment regarding sanction of 3000 more jobs in addition to 6000 jobs for left out candidates and compensation in favour of over-aged youth besides settling other demands.
YAIKS senior leaders B K Bhat, Sunil Koul, Manoj Handoo Sanjay Ganjoo, Rakesh Fotedar, D N Bhat, B L Dhar, Sanjay Bhat, Amit Raina,Ajay Pandita and others addressed the rally.
