KISHTWAR, Dec 7: A driver and his associate were killed when the water tanker they were traveling in skidded off the road and fell into deep gorge near Hasti Morh area on Kishtwar-Doda highway, this evening.
As per police sources, a water tanker bearing registration number JK02AD-5060 plunged into gorge near Hasti Morh area, resulting into on the spot death of driver and his associate.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and with the help of locals, retrieved the bodies from the gorge.
The bodies have been shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar for autopsy, which will be conducted tomorrow.
The deceased have been identified as Bodh Raj (50), son of Raghu Nath and Ashu (23), son of Suresh Kumar, both residents of Thatyar Mohalla Shalimar, District Kishtwar.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Kishtwar Police Station and investigation started.
