RAJOURI, Dec 7: An elderly woman attempted self- immolation at her residence at Taryath in Kalakote area of district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that 65-year-old Kewal Kumari, wife of Late Bodh Raj, resident of Taryath set herself on fire after pouring kerosene oil on her body today. She had some tiff with the family members. She was shifted to Primary Health Centre Taryath and then referred to Govt Medical College Hospital, Jammu with serious burn injuries. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, 24-year-old Neelam Kumari, wife of Sunil Kumar, resident of Kabu Kote in Dharamsal area became serious after she allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her residence this evening. She was removed to Sunderbani hospital. The cause behind this extreme step could not be known immediately. The police has registered a case for investigation.
