ITI Employees United Front discusses demands with Secretary

JAMMU, Dec 7: J&K ITI Employees United Front Jammu led by its State President Nazir Ahmed Molvi held a meeting with Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Secretary Technical Education here today and discussed the pending demands.
Naresh Sharma, Vice President of the Front, Karan Singh General Secretary, Bhushan Khajuria and Subash Sharma, Advisors and other members of the Front also attended the meeting.
While speaking, Nazir Ahmed Molvi said that due to vacancies of superintendents in the ITIs of J&K the training programme have suffered badly.
He said that immediate placement of supervisors, group instructors, etc is required and holding of DPC of gazetted cadre should be conveyed to clear the pending promotions and filling up the vacant posts of different categories and cadres viz Incharge Principal, ADs, Superintendents etc.
He added that finalization of the recruitment rules both gazetted and non gazetted also needs attention as the issue also stands taken up with the Commissioner Secretary and Director Technical Education by incorporating the observations and suggestions of the ITI employees.
“ITI sector should be reorganized and nomenclature of the various cadres posts should be charged like Directorate of Skill Development in Central Ministry of Labour Employment and Training has changed into Ministry of Skill Development”, Nazir said, adding that posts of instructor and group instructor should be designated as Training Officer and Senior Training Officer.
He said that there is great need to modernize infrastructure, equipments and construction of new modern workshop block and auditorium in IIT Jammu in particular and many old ITIs in general.
Secretary assured the delegation that the demands will be addressed shortly.
