KATHUA, Dec 9: A class 12th student allegedly committed suicide, while one another made vain attempt.
As per police sources, a class 12th student Laxmi Devi (17), daughter of Sher Singh allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her residence in village Umalla, Ramkot.
After finding her unconscious, family members shifted her to PHC Ramkot, from where she was later referred to GMCH Jammu, where she failed to respond to the treatment and breathed her last.
Ramkot police has taken cognizance in this regards.
Meanwhile, a girl namely Diksha Devi (24), daughter of Bittu, a resident of Palasi allegedly tried to end her life by consuming some poisonous substance.
Family members shifted her to District Hospital Kathua, where she was undergoing treatment, when last reports came in.
