JAMMU, Dec 10: Former Minister Sat Sharma (CA) along with Corporator of Ward 12, Jeet Angral and BJP District president Ayodhya Gupta, today kick-started construction works of retaining wall and lane at Upper Krishna Nagar area of Jammu West Assembly segment. The wall was damaged due to heavy rainfall during the past monsoon season. The works include construction of a retaining wall, earth filling and construction of lane and drain. The estimated cost of these works is Rs 9.54 lakhs and will be done under the supervision of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). Sharma was accompanied by officials of JMC, locals and political activists of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said that construction of lane and retaining wall was a commitment made to the residents of Upper Krishna Nagar and after this they will not have to face problem during rainy season. Sharma also asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) officials to ensure the drains are cleaned at the earliest.
He stated that pending works pertaining to development in all 26 Wards of Jammu West will be taken up in coming days which are already in tendering process and will be allotted in coming days to Contractors so that a proper infra could be provided to the inhabitants of Jammu West. He also toured adjoining areas along with Corporator to take stock of completed works.
JE JMC Ranjan, Dr Surjeet Singh, Swarn Samyal, Urvashi Gupta, Anil Angral, Ramesh Kumar, Barinder Dogra, Kuldeep Kumar, Jatinder Kour, Amrik Singh, Harbans Lal, Inderjit Sawhney, Labha Ram, Arjun Gupta and Ashwani Kumar were present on the occasion.
