JAMMU, Dec 12: Cautioning against hidden agenda of so called nationalists, Y V Sharma, former president of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu, and president All India Professionals’ Congress has said that victory of the Congress Party in three States is in fact a response of the common man towards the intolerant, vituperative, divisive and communal attitude of the present dispensation at the Centre which brought the political parlance to the lowest possible stage.
In a statement, Sharma asserted that the defeat of the BJP started on the day when Mr Modi expressed his intention of making the Indian Political Polity ‘Congress Mukt’ and ‘Opposition Mukt’. “In his arrogance. Mr Modi forgot that in a democratic set up opposition is a must and it keeps the democracy vibrant,” he added.
Expressing his gratitude to Congress president Rahul Gandhi who faced the authoritarian attitude of BJP and Company with a lot of patience, commitment and courage, Mr Sharma assured him that the Congress stands united in his valiant fight against the anti-democratic forces.
Calling upon all the members of the All India Professionals Congress, Mr Sharma exhorted them to gird up their loins and prepare themselves to fight tooth and nail the forces which are hell bent to destroy the constitutional institutions, continue a reign of undeclared emergency and subvert all the actions of the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives in building the strong foundations of the country after independence.
He cautioned the country men and especially the workers of the Congress Party to be vigilant against the nefarious designs of the so called nationalists who want to impose their hidden agenda in the name of development, religion, nationalism and what not.
“India has a tradition and love, cooperation, co-existence, respect for the feelings of all section of society and Professionals’ Congress is working overtime to convince the people to respect these cultural characteristics of the country,” he said and appealed to all the patriotic citizens of the country to help in bringing the atmosphere of respect for all by fighting bravely against all the forces of evil designs.
