JAMMU, Dec 16: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla has said that only Congress can provide a stable and affective Government in the J&K State.
Addressing public meeting at Bandhu Rakh in Gandhi Nagar today Bhalla said a stable Government is must for effective and balance d development and over all prosperity in the State. He said an effective and people friendly Government is the need of the hour.
He said the experiment of previous coalition Government has failed in the State because various components of coalition were bonded by the lust of power bereft of any ideological understanding. Bhalla said three and half years of coalition Government led to an administrative anarchy and chaos and brought the process of development in the state to a standstill. He said in the name of development the PDP-BJP Government in the State has given the State unemployment, financial mismanagement, poverty, bad roads, dry taps, poor health care and crippled education system.
Bhalla said BJP-PDP misrule has brought misery to the people of the State and even their basic needs have not been catered to by a defective incompetent delivery mechanism which was the outcome of a defunct Government. He promised that if voted to power Congress will empower the youth and women in the State so as to take the State on the path of growth and development.
He said the employment oriented people friendly welfare programmes initiated by the Congress regime will be re-launched with need based modifications to uplift the plight of the masses particularly the downtrodden and those living in the far flung areas of the State.
Bhalla said it is unfortunate that the erstwhile Coalition Government opened colleges and upgraded schools without creating necessary infrastructure depriving the young students of the quality education thereby playing with their career. Congress has all along been braving conspiracies of the self-seekers and political opportunists and this era has not ended yet, as political arena is full of vested interests who are playing at the tunes of divisive forces to weaken our great party, which is in fact a mass movement of the poor, weak and deprived segments of society”, Bhalla said, urging the people to remain vigilant against such elements.
