BISHNAH, Dec 16: Upbeat over the Congress victory in three State Assembly elections, the party leaders in Jammu today predicted return of Congress in 2019 Lok Sabha polls as well as in the forthcoming Assembly elections in J&K.
During a public meeting at Bishnah assembly constituency on Sunday, Congressmen also lauded the party president Rahul Gandhi’s efforts in leading from the front to dethrone BJP from significant Hindi heartland States of Chattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh..
Presiding over the meeting, senior Congress leader and member AICC, M K Bhardwaj said that people of Jammu and Kashmir are also eagerly awaiting for the next available opportunity to teach BJP and its allies a lesson for letting them down and not fulfilling promises made to the people of Jammu and particularly those of Bishnah zone.
“The results of the three States, which were the citadels of BJP and the Sangh Parivar, clearly reflect that people are yearning for a change and want riddance from the BJP’s misrule in view of the dangerous attempts to polarise the country on religious lines for narrow electoral gains,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, former Minister Mula Ram gave a clarion call to the people to prepare themselves for giving a befitting reply to the divisive forces led by BJP as the opportunity would arise in the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. “You must question BJP leaders including the area MP and former Ministers when they approach you for votes as to why they failed to fulfill their promises of all round development and resolving the problems of particularly the people living in borders areas facing relentless Pakistan hostility,” he said.
Hari Singh Chib, District(Rural) president Jammu, speaking on the occasion, pleaded for the “clean politics” to take the mission of Congress president Rahul Gandhi to the grass roots level and redress the sufferings of common man.
Shah Nawaz Choudhary, general secretary, while addressing the gathering, said that the BJP-PDP alliance has already wasted four years of their tenure and the only net gain has been their leaders amassed wealth at the cost of the common man.
Others, who spoke on the occasion, included Neeraj Kundal, Arun Sharma, Attar Singh, Mehar Singh, Vinod Kumar, Suraj Prakash and Rajinder Sandhu.
