JKGTF demands release of salary, promotions

KATHUA, Dec 17: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Government Teachers Forum ( JKGTF) was held under the chairmanship of its district president, Surjeet Singh Jasrotia here, today.
The main issues discussed in the meeting were early release of salary of teachers, masters working under RMSA, SSA, holding of DPC for all streams, removal of pay anomalies of master grade, non engagement of teachers as BLO, adjustment of zonal education officers, regularization and confirmation of all teaching staff etc.
While addressing chairman of the Forum, Amar Nath Thakur expressed grave concern over all the issues and said that number of times Forum highlighted the demands but no action has been taken to minimise the prime issues of the teaching community. It has come to the notice of the Forum that Governor Satya Paul Malik is taking keen interest to solve the problems and Forum is hopeful that teaching community will get justice through his hands.
S Parveen Singh, State general secretary of the Forum stated that it is only the Education Department in J&K where stagnation in promotions exist.
The education authorities are not serious about promotion as a result teachers are spending maximum service length in their initial grade. Devinder Singh general secretary said that there is an urgent need of regularization and confirmation of all non teaching staff. Time bound promotion cases are lying pending in CEOs offices. All the speakers pointed out for the utilization of services of teachers as BLOs.
