‘Far flung areas remained neglected under BJP-PDP’

BILLAWAR, Dec 17: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today said that remote and far-flung areas remained totally neglected during BJP-PDP rule in the State.
Addressing series of public meetings at Jasyal, Galak, Tanthu, Thamnal and Lower Buggan villages of Billawar constituency, the DCC Kathua president Dr Sharma lambasted previous BJP-PDP Govt for neglecting far flung areas of the State and said that BJP at the Centre lacks vision to run country and common masses are facing due to the policies of the Government.
During the meetings, people of various Panchayats apprised Dr Sharma of various problems being faced by them such as non- supply of drinking water, poor power supply, bad condition of roads etc.
They further said many projects have been abandoned and waiting for their completion. They referred to up-gradation of Buggan Higher Secondary School, non-functioning of upgraded Primary Health Centre, Buggan, up-gradation of Thamnal High School.
Dr Sharma gave a patient hearing to public grievances and assured them that their problems will be resolved at the earliest. He requested the Governor and his administration to look into the above cited problems of people for early redressal.
While addressing the people Sharma criticized the Government policies and said that people have not been really benefitted. He said people are suffering by making rounds of Govt offices and standing in long queues.
He further said more than 70 cases of regularisation of teachers are pending under Rahber- e-Taleem scheme since last 4 years in Education Department. People are waiting for payments against construction of toilets in under Swach Bharat Abhiyan and moreover, PHE daily wagers payments are pending for the last more than 50 months.
Dr Sharma assured the people that their problems will be taken up with the concerned higher authorities.
