JAMMU, Dec 18: The employees of Mission ICDS under Social Welfare Department, Jammu Province, are without salary for the last about seven months.
A meeting of the Non-Gazetted Employees Association Social Welfare & ICDS, Jammu Province was held under the chairmanship of its president Umar Jan where members expressed serious concern over the non-release of their wages. They said the matter was brought to the notice of higher authorities in the department but nothing happened.
Umar Jan pointed out that the salary of employees is pending for the last seven months and in some districts it is pending for the last three months. There are maximum female employees working in the department who are facing many difficulties without salary for months.
The employee of ICDS were hoping that after creation of separate Directorate of Mission ICDS in the year 2014 they will get their salaries on time but the situation did not improve. The employees appealed the Governor, SP Malik to intervene into the matter.
