JKGB organizes financial literacy camps

SAMBA, Dec 18: Financial Literacy Center, J&K Grameen Bank, in collaboration with RBI and NABARD organized financial literacy-cum-awareness camps at unbanked villages Gho Rakwalan (Swankha Morh) and Kamila (Gura Salathia) of the district Samba.
Amit Laira, Regional Manager, Regional Office, Kathua/Samba, was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he spoke at length about various loan schemes offered at reasonable rates by J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB). He said that providing hassle free credit facilities for overall development of the State and its populace is and will always remain primary motive of the bank.
Vipan Gupta, HoD, Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department (FIID), in his opening comments, remarked that J&K Grameen Bank is playing a major role in the State for implementation of various Government sponsored social security schemes like PMSBY, PMJJBY, PMJDY, etc. He then discussed these schemes in detail and their accompanying benefits through PPT slides/videos displayed over LED screen.
Gupta also spread awareness about the latest developments in PMJDY. He further informed the masses that now-a-days banks in addition to traditional banking products i.e. deposits & advances also offer all types of insurance products through their tie-ups with Insurers. So, he urged the public to approach their nearby branches and adequately insure themselves and their families.
Avtar Singh, BJP State Executive Committee member, acknowledged the role played by JKGB in turning around the lives of many. He urged the public to approach their nearby branches and avail various beneficial schemes of the bank.
Rahul Pandita from IT Department and Vicky Kumar from FIID spread awareness about various IT initiatives of the Bank such as use of POS Machine, RuPay Debit card, Mobile Banking Services, Aadhaar based transactions, SMS Alerts, NEFT/ RTGS and Immediate Payment services (IMPS).They also told them the benefits and ease of using such services and at the same time cautioned them to beware of fraudulent calls.
