JAMMU, Dec 18: Nagrota police under ‘Operation Kamdhenu’ rescued 20 bovine animals and arrested one smuggler.
As per police sources, based on specific inputs, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02AT-5411.
During checking, police rescued 20 bovine animals from the truck and arrested one smuggler, who has been identified as Harminder Singh, son of Ujagar Singh, a resident of Indra Nagar Gadigarh Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 316/18 under section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma and DIG JKS Range/SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
