Plus 2 PSC Lecturers meet Advisor, apprise him of grievances

JAMMU, Dec 19: Central Working Committee of All J and K Plus Two PSC Lecturers Association Jammu called on Advisor to Governor K K Sharma and apprised him of demands pertaining to plus two lecturers.
The delegation submitted a detailed charter of demands to the Advisor and put forth all the issues and grievances faced by the fraternity. The delegation appealed K. K. Sharma to address the long pending and genuine demand of Assured Career Progression ACP /TBT of +2 lecturers.
“There are very rare promotion opportunities in the department leading to stagnation which adversely effects the psychological make up of lecturers,” they said and informed that the lecturers have to work on the same post for more than twenty years and fortunately if elevated as Principal, there is benefit of mere two hundred rupees, which is a sort of humiliation, exploitation and mental torture.
The delegation also expressed serious concern over the issues of service protection of direct recruits and said that according notional or retrospective promotion to one section of community adversely affects the service career of direct recruits as their seniority is jeopardized. “It sounds good that in charge lecturers are going to be regularized and it is their right to be confirmed as soon as possible but at the same time the seniority of direct recruits should remain intact and all regularizations should be in the purview of SRO 743 applying the principle “whichever is latter “so that the promotees may not steal march the seniority of direct recruited lecturers,” the delegation said and appealed K K Sharma to implement Govt order No 743 in letter and spirit.
The delegation requested K. K. Sharma to streamline the system of education and said that a fair transfer policy should be framed so that the officers may be transferred from one place to another conveniently, which will definitely improve work culture in the department.
They also demanded revocation of SRO 202, restoration of quota for Higher Education, filing up of Joint Director post by the officers of parental department etc.
