Srinagar, Dec 21: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry today welcomed the extension of the North East Industrial Package to Jammu and Kashmir.
Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, President KCC&I stated that the announcement was an important step for attracting investment in the industrial sector and boosting local industrial growth.
Sheikh said that the KCC&I had been demanding the extension of this package to the State as, coupled with other meaningful interventions by the Government, local industry would have some advantages for marketing and promotion of their products.
Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad also thanked K K Sharma, Advisor to the Governor and BVR Subramanyam, Chief Secretary for the sustained efforts put in by them for getting this package extended to the State.
Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad hoped that local entrepreneurs would take advantage of the package to generate employment and growth opportunities for the business community.
