UDHAMPUR, Dec 21: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 14 animals at Battal Morh, Majalta, here today, even as the accused smuggler managed to flee.
Based on reliable information, a Police party, led by SHO Majalta, Inspector Narinder Jasrotia, laid naka near Battal Morh and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number HR47C-6010.
Sensing trouble, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled away from the spot by taking advantage of heavy traffic on road. During the checking, 14 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in the vehicle. All the bovine animals were rescued and the vehicle was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR number 103 /2018 U/S 188, RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Majalta and further investigation is going on.
