ACB registers case against revenue officials, others

JAMMU, Dec 22: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu registered a case against various revenue officers and officials viz private beneficiaries.
The persons against whom the case has been registered include Iqbal Singh, then Tehsildar, Mendhar,  Nawaz Ahmed and Janbaz Khan, then Patwaris posted in Mendhar Tehsil, District Poonch and private beneficiaries namely Mohammad Hanief, Mohammad Aslam, Maqsood Ahmed, sons of Sakhi Mohammad, Mohammad Yaqoob, Manzoor Ahmed, Mehmood Ahmed and Zahoor Ahmed, sons of Mohammad Yaqoob, Mohammad Latief, son of Hassan Din Kashmiri, all residents of village Narole Tehsil Mendhar District Poonch and Mohammad Hussain, son of Gulab Din.
A case under FIR Number 43/18 under Section 5(1)(d) r/w Section 5(2) of J&K PC Act Svt 2006 and Section 120-B RPC has been registered against them at Police Station ACB Jammu.
The case was registered on the basis of verification conducted by ACB pursuant to the written complaint lodged by Nazir Hussain, son of Jalal Din of Kasblari Tehsil Mendhar District Poonch on behalf of the inhabitants of village Kasblari and Narole Tehsil Mendhar District Poonch regarding encroachment of 200 kanals of State and Forest land falling under khasra no.123 situated at village Narole Tehsil Mendhar by land grabbers in active connivance with officers and officials of concerned departments.
It was alleged that State and Forest land were encroached by land grabbers and revenue officers and officials have illegally attested mutations in their favour. Enquiries revealed that above named revenue officers by misuse and abuse of their official position, in league with above named beneficiaries and in gross violation of the rules and norms prescribed under law have illegally recorded and attested mutations and thereafter conferred the ownership rights upon the beneficiaries accused who do not fall within the ambit of LB-6C of 1958, thereby causing wrongful gain to the private beneficiaries and wrongful loss of the state and forest land.
On the prima facie establishment of offences, a case has been registered in Police Station ACB Jammu and investigation has been taken up.
