Christmas celebrated with zeal, enthusiasm

JAMMU, Dec 22: Various educational institutions celebrated Christmas with zeal and enthusiasm
The students and staff of Alexander Memorial School celebrated Christmas festival in the school premises. ID Soni, State Commissioner, J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides, Agnes Khokhar, Anthony Ignatius, members of the management along with KB Magotra, President of Rotary Club, Adeep Mehta and Sanjeev Vaid of the Rotary Club, Pastor, Sarafeen Sunny, Ramban and several other dignitaries were among the distinguished guests. Principal Esther William presented the welcome address, while Rev Udai Singh, Presbyter Incharge, St Paul’s Church, Jammu gave the Christmas message. On the occasion, students presented various cultural items. An Interact Club of Rotarians of the age group below 18 was selected by the dignitaries electing Iqra Gul Manhas as President, Radhika as Secretary and Rahul Dogra as Treasurer of the club.
Christmas was celebrated in DPS Jammu with great zeal and enthusiasm. A special assembly was also organized on the occasion, which began with the school prayer by Shivika Jamwal of class I and thought of the day presented by Vinaya Gupta of class I. On the occasion, students presented various items. Principal DPS Jammu Ruchi Chabra exhorted the students to be the little ambassadors of peace and goodwill. Headmistress Meenu Gupta was also present on the occasion. The whole event was compered by Pooja Sharma, school faculty.
Carmel Convent Higher Secondary School, Kunjwani celebrated Christmas. On the occasion, students performed various cultural items. Class wise activities and parties were also organized for the junior and senior wing of the school. School Manager Fr Shaiju Chacko stressed upon the students to follow the path of fraternity, universal brotherhood and humanity in order to maintain global peace, progress and prosperity. School Principal Sr Maria Swati AC threw light on the importance of the day and distributed gifts among staff and students.
ASN Higher Secondary School Resham Ghar Colony celebrated Christmas Day. Students presented cultural items on the occasion. Later, Principal distributed sweets among children and faculty members.
National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana lauded the camaraderie among young school-goers in celebrating religious festivals of each other in a unique spirit of inclusiveness. “Today’s Christmas Day festivity here is a reminder of the humanity surviving in young hearts, who are celebrating the occasion with immense degree of fanfare, irrespective of religious affiliations”, Rana said at the close of a scintillating function Holy Trinity Convent High School, Dansal, marking the beginning of Christmas festivities.
A Christmas party was organised for specially abled children of AWWA Asha School of Udhampur at official residence of GOC-in-C Northern Command. Children alongwith staff of AWWA Asha School attended the Christmas party. Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, GOC-in-C Northern Command with Kalpana Singh Dhatt, Regional President AWWA welcomed all children and staff of AWWA Asha School. Various entertainment programs including music and dance were organized for children. Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh and Kalpana Singh Dhatt interacted with children and school staff.
Rising Kids Playway School celebrated Christmas Day. A special fancy dress programme was organized. Students were dressed as different characters of Jesus, Mariyam, Fairies and Angels. Tiny angels sang carols and celebrated the birthday of Jesus Christ with full zeal. Seema Gupta Principal of the School was also present on the occasion.
Penguin Paradise Wing of RM Public School celebrated Christmas. The progamme was organized under the supervision of Coordinators Neha Rajput, Anjana Rajput and Nadia. Different activities were organized, in which students took part with enthusiasm. Trustee RM Public School Rita Mengi, Principal Ravinder Kour and Incharge Suman Lata were also present on the occasion.
