10 bovines rescued, 4 vehicles seized

SAMBA, Dec 22: District Police Samba under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba once again succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba by rescuing 10 bovines and seizing four vehicles which were being utilized for the transportation of bovines.
According to reports, a police party of Police Post, Rakh Amb Talli headed by SI Deepak Bharti, I/C PP Rakh Amb Talli and other Police Party led by Inspector, Chanchal Singh, SHO P/S Samba, under the supervision of Deepak Digra, DySP. Headquarters Samba during surprise vehicle checking naka at Border road Chak Dayala, Samba intercepted three Tata Mobile Mahindra Vehicles bearing Registration Nos. JK02AX-5188, JK02BX-5160, PB08BU-9242 and a Alto car bearing Regd. No. JK08G-6353, which was escorting the bovine smugglers, coming via Border Road Samba for their safe passage.
During checking of the vehicles 10 cattle were found laden in them. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer places. All the vehicles, including escorting Alto car used for transporting the bovines without any permission were seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 328/2018 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act stands registered at P/S Samba and investigation started.
Police said that bovine smugglers in these days have adopted the strategy to disguise the Police. They have started using passenger vehicles in the illegal trade of bovine smuggling. But the extra vigilant and hectic efforts of the District Police Samba didn’t let them succeed and foiled bovine smuggling bid.
