POONCH, Dec 24: The people from Upper Uchhad in Mendhar Sub Division of the district and adjoining areas held a protest against the PHE authorities over water scarcity.
A large number of villagers from Upper Uchhad led by Mohd Arif assembled at Krana Road and started raising slogans against PHE authorities. They were shouting slogans against the PHE authorities for their failure to provide adequate supply of water to the area. They alleged that water pipes are broken due to water supply to many localities has been snapped for last several weeks.
Later, SDPO Mendhar, Neeraj Padyar arrived at the spot and assured the agitating people that their issue of water will be solved within two days. They also held talks with the AEE PHE Mendhar.
