JAMMU, Dec 25: Former MLC and JKPCC Chief Spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma has advocated for due attention towards the genuine demands of equal opportunities and recognition of the linguistic and religious rights of Sikh minority community.
Addressing a religious congregation at Nonial Nowshera, Sharma lauded the community for its valuable contributions in various fields of nation building.
The congregation was organised in connection with the death anniversary of Sant Bawa Sunder Singh Ji.
Sharma said that ensuring due attention towards minorities and addressing their genuine concerns strengthens the nation and its democratic spirit and ignoring their justified demands breeds resentment and feeling of discrimination.
“The demands like better opportunities of promotion of Punjabi language and upgrading facilities for living, pilgrimage and performance of religious duties should get top priority of the Government,” he said.
He urged the Government to upgrade and widen Nowshera to Nonial central Gurudwara road and take up road link to Bhata from Nonial.
