JWAM stages protest against road widening

JAMMU, Dec 25: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) activists here today staged a protest demonstration demanding construction of ‘Ring Road’ from Amphalla-Manda to Janipur High Court road.
The protesters also demanded metro-rail from Amphalla-Manda to Roop Nagar, Bantalab and ultimately to Akhnoor.
Speaking on the occasion, JWAM President Sunil Dimple said that there shall be a ‘Vishal Rally’ on Jan 2 in support of the demands.
The protesters condemned Government proposal for widening Amphalla-Janipur High Court road by 20 feet upto Bantalab from both sides.
JWAM leader Dimple said that the road widening will affect livelihood of some traders as their shops lie on this road.
He appealed the Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene and also demanded, construct of flyovers at Rehari Chungi-Jewel Chowk.
Sweteey Kour, Sham Saroop Gupta, Manjeet Anand and others were present in the protest.
