He said the exiled Pandits have been given temporary ration cards 28 years back and their all rights were usurped and how long more this will continue. The exiled youth are facing mental as well as physical torture. They are being shown lip sympathy and half baked return plans as Government in last three decades totally failed to ensure their return and rehabilitation with honour and dignity as per the aspirations of the community, he added.
He warned those forces who are using displaced Pandits for their vested interests. “They use our plight to fulfill their own agenda which will not be allowed”, he added.
They warned that the so-called leaders who were never with the community cause come with daily statements to create a confusion which will not be tolerated.
The protestors demanded that the remaining 3000 jobs be sanctioned in favour of left over candidates who had applied under different notifications. The over aged youth want to serve in Kashmir and criteria should be one family one job as all displaced Pandits have equally suffered, they added.
Further they demanded that the Government should compensate the community against the 25,000 jobs held by it up to exodus and the reserve category posts like SC/ST/OBC/ALC be removed from package as there is no reserved category in the community.
They also demanded one time compensation to over aged KP youth, besides providing of separate and independent accommodations to Valley posted migrant employees who should be provided basic amenities within the camp.
Later they submitted a memorandum to Governor, Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhawan and brought the issues in his notice. He assured them sympathetic consideration.
