UDHAMPUR, Dec 26: A young man attempted self immolation by setting himself on fire at his home in tehsil Latti, here last night. .
As per the police reports, Ashfaq Ahmed (30), son of Ghulam Hassan, poured kerosene oil on his body and set himself on fire at his residence in village Jakhed, Tehsil Latti. Family members rushed him to PHC Latti where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of his serious condition. He has sustained 70 percent burn injuries and his condition was stated to be critical.
According to the locals, the man has two wives and two children. Cause of provocation could not be ascertained. Police has registered the case and started investigation.
