Dogra Warriors constituted for revival of Chajha: Arora

JAMMU, Dec 27: BJP MLC, Ramesh Arora today said the spirit of Dogra culture is valuable and has played an important role in unity of this State with rest of the Country. Talking to reporters here, he said Dogra culture was recognized by leaders like former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and accordingly included the Dogri Language in 8th Schedule, but with passage of time, “we feel it is important to revive the traditional culture because it has deep roots of nationalism”.
Arora further said that “Chajha” culture was one of the traditions which existed 30 years back but now it is at the verge of extinction.
He said for the revival of the same an organization namely “Dogra Warriors” has been formed which will be managed by a Committee constituted to revive this traditional culture . “Chajha” in fact, represents the sign of prosperity and is symbol of Peacock with his wings fully spread. “The Committee of the citizens include Deewan Bansal Industralist, Vijay Trehan, Arya Samaj, Rajinder Arora Additional MD JK Media Group, Samant Singh, Director Citizen Cooperative Bank , Parbhat Singh general secretary, Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Narayan Singh president, Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, Pervaiz Malik social activist, Prabhu Dayal former president Brick Kiln Owners Association, Arun Khanna Corporator, Suneet Raina, Corporator, Satish Verma media person, Kapil Arora working president Arorabans Sabha, Dharmender Kumar social worker , Daljeet Singh, social worker, Bharat Gandhi Ex MLA, Ashish Sareen social worker, Ashok Gupta ASL Tutorial MD. Prem Sadhotra general secretary, Bar Association of Jammu, he added.
Arora informed that a competition of “Chajha” presentation will be organized on the eve of Lohri i.e. on January 13 at Old Secretariat, Mubarak Mandi at 9 AM and many dignitaries including Divisional Commissioner have agreed to participate in the same.
After distribution of prizes to the winners, the Chajha with participants will move in Main Bazaars of Jammu city in a procession which will culminate at Raghunath Ji Temple Jammu.
