JAMMU, Dec 27: Noted poet, story writer and daughter of the soil, Shashi Padha’s book titled ‘Nirbeek Yodhaon Ki Kahaniyan’ was released today in a function organized by Jammu Kashmir Rashtra Bhasha Parchar Samiti, Jammu here at KL Sehgal Hall.
On the occasion, Prof Keshav Sharma, Dean, Academic Affairs, Jammu University, was the chief guest while Prof Vishav Murti Shastri, the nominee Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi, presided over the function.
Prof Lalit Mangotra, president, Dogri Sanstha, Jammu and Dr Amrinder Singh Aman, additional secretary, J&K Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages, were guests of honour.
An introductory paper about the book was presented by eminent writer, Joginder Chatterpal while Prof Bharat Bhushan Sharma, general secretary and Sanchalak of the Samiti, underlined the contributions of Shashi Padha and briefed about the activities of the Samiti.
Writer of the book, Shashi Padha, who is presently settled in North Carolina (USA), gave a brief description of the book and recalled her moments spent with the brave heroes and their families.
Earlier, Deedar Singh, president, Jammu Kashmir Rashtra Bhasha Parchar Samiti, Jammu, while welcoming the guests, said that the Samiti is a literary organization which is working for the promotion of the litterateur and writers of the national as well as regional languages.
Literary personalities, prominent writers, poets, citizens and family friends of Shashi Padha were also present on the occasion.
