SAMBA, Dec 27: A function was organised here today to commemorate martyrdom of 2nd Lt Arun Khetarpal, PVC (Posthumous) by Samba social club and Samba Brigade.
DC Samba Sushma Chauhan, SSP, Brigadier Anil Raman, Ex legislator Yashpaul Kundal, senior Army Officers, prominent citizens and civil society members participated in the event.
Paying floral tributes to martyr Arun Khetarpal, participants recalled his supreme sacrifice in famous Basantar battle of 1971 war.
On the occasion, Hony Captain Bana Singh was also felicitated by Samba social club and other dignitaries.
Later, a plantation drive was also undertaken by DC and Brigadier Anil Raman in remembrance of martyr Arun Khetarpal.
