ACB books Revenue officials for making fictitious entries

SRINAGAR, Dec 28: Anti Corruption Bureau Kashmir today booked Revenue Officers and officials for making fraudulent and fictitious entries in Revenue records by misusing official position.
The case was registered following outcome of a verification conducted by Anti-Corruption Bureau, which looked into the allegations of Patwaris/Girdawars of village Balhama Khrew while preparing new Girdawari/Jamabandi (Record of rights) and who against huge pecuniary benefits have mentioned hundreds of kanals of Government land as proprietary land.
During verification it surfaced that the concerned Revenue officer/officials namely Ashiq Ali Khan, the then Patwari, Abdul Hamid Khan, the then Girdawar and Mohammad Yousuf Dar, the then Settlement Officer by abuse and misuse of their official position and in league with private beneficiaries have fraudulently made fictitious entries under various khasra numbers in the relevant Revenue records.
Besides this, they also transferred certain migrant properties directly in favour of non-migrants without adopting the proper procedure and without following the requisites of J&K Migrant Act 1994, thus conferring undue benefit to the beneficiaries for their own pecuniary gain and corresponding loss to the State exchequer.
Accordingly, a case FIR No 35/2018, under Section 5(1) (d), r/w 5(2) J&K P.C Act Svt; 2006 and Section 120-B RPC has been registered at Police Station Anti Corruption Bureau Kashmir and the investigation of the case is going on.
