Ramakrishna Mission celebrates 166th Birth Anniversary of Maa Sarada Devi

JAMMU, Dec 28: The 166th Birth Anniversary of Sri Sarada Devi, the Holy Mother was celebrated today with great fervour and serenity by the Ramakrishna Mission of Jammu at its premises located at Udheywala, Jammu.
The full-day celebration started early in the morning with Mangalaarti, followed by chanting of mantras, Aarti and bhajans of the Holy Mother. Special Pooja and Havan were performed. Bhajan and Bhog were also part of the celebration.
A large number of devotees and local people had gathered for the celebration. They were enlightened with the life of Sri Sarada Maa by Swami Nirantarananda ji Maharaj.
Finally all the devotees offered pushpanjali to Mother Sri Sarada Devi. All the participants enjoyed prasad (lunch) at Sarada Hall. In the evening, the programme started with Aarti, followed by a talk on Holy Mother. The celebrations culminated with chanting of bhajans on Maa Sarada.
In his address to the devotees on the occasion, Swami Nirantarananda, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission’s Jammu Ashrama, said Sarada Devi is a symbol of purity, divinity, simplicity and holiness. He said Maa Sarada is revered among the Ramakrishna order as ‘Sangha Janani’. He also eulogized her for leading the mission after Sri Ramakrishna for three decades.
