JAMMU, Dec 28: J&K PCC has asked the Government to consider pre-poning of winter breaks in schools by few days in view of intense cold conditions prevailing in most parts of summer zone.
In a statement, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that the school going children shiver in the morning time due to chilling cold weather, thick mist and fog conditions in several parts of rural belt falling under summer zone.
The children of poor families can’t afford proper clothing also and have added hardships. It is desirable that the authorities prepone the winter vacations, taking into account the weather conditions.
He also suggested that the morning timings of schools should also be fixed in consultations with respective district authorities.
