JAMMU, Dec 28: Department of Applied Sciences of Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) organized Social Service Day today here at College campus.
“Charity begins at home” is the simple phrase of four words containing a huge explanation which defines the real meaning of charity and its different requirement for different people. With this aim, the students and faculty members of the Department of Applied Sciences donated the gifts in the form of Dinner Sets to the Class IV employees.
The programme was organized to make the students understand the importance of charity in their life as various unfortunate people are residing in this world who are poor, helpless & alone in this world. The students from all the streams actively participated in this activity.
While interacting with the students, Chairman JGEI, Vidhi S Singh, said that the dire need of the day is that every citizen of India takes personal interest and participate in such activities. He said that nature of kindness of a person being in form of charity done for the noble cause is always good and should be followed by everyone.
Renu Bangroo, Managing Director, JGEI, Dr Arvind Dewangan, Director YCET, Dr Vijay Koul, Dean Academics, Nidhi Jamwal, Administrative Secretary and R S Dalpatia, Deputy Registrar, were present on the occasion.
The programme was coordinated by Rakesh Verma, Academic Coordinator & HoD Applied Sciences, faculty members and students of the Department of Applied Sciences.
