JAMMU, Dec 30: Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Amit Sharma here today laid emphasis on constructive life sans drinking, drug abuse and other vices which is resulting in generational washout in the present day.
Addressing a group of youngsters in border belt of Gajansoo Marh area during a workshop organised by Youth Club Gajansoo for youth orientation and youth motivation, Sharma mentioned several contemporary examples from developing countries wherein youth revolutions have been brought about with youth uprising and it has changed brought overall upsurge in progress and development of these nations.
A handout informed that Sharma is going to organise few workshops in collaboration with world-famous cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin with the motto of motivating and helping the cause of youngsters in J&K. He mentioned that India is blessed with a genre of young population whose energies should be channelized and utilised in the right directions whereas in the western world, the big worrisome question is average age of population which is on the mature and highest side even in lot of developed countries.
Sharma also mentioned about the youth motivation which happened in Dudu Basantgarh Sub Division area wherein the youth of the area got engaged into various productive activities all through the tenure he served as Sub Divisional Magistrate all through 2009-2011.
Sarpanches, Panches, Youth and Civil Society thanked Amit Sharma for making the youth aware about drug abuse.
Prominent among people who were present on the occasion were Zorawar Singh, Chairman Team Jammu (NGO) and General Secretary of Press Club Jammu, Ashwani Sharma, a prominent social worker, Ex-Sarpanch Sampooran Choudhary and others.
