Handicapped man crushed to death by bus, 2 injured

JAMMU, Dec 31: A handicapped man was crushed to death by a bus in Jourian area of city outskirts. In the mishap, two others were also injured.
According to a police official, a handicapped man namely Joginder Pal (60) son of late Sansar Chand, resident of Khour, along with his wife Rekha Devi (45) was travelling on a scooty from Akhnoor to Jourian when on reaching Mandiwala a speeding bike coming from opposite side hit his two-wheeler.
The mishap occurred today at about 4 PM in which Joginder Pal fell off the vehicle and came under the rear wheel of a bus bearing registration number JK02BL-5787 which was on its way from Akhnoor to Jourian. His both legs (one of them artificial) got crushed under the wheel of the bus. He was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
In the mishap, Joginder’s wife and rider of other two-wheeler namely SPO Munish Kumar (posted at police station Peer Mitha), 28, son of Ganga Ram, resident of Jourian received minor injuries. They were also shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
In this connection, a case was registered at police station Khour and investigations started.
