KATHUA, Dec 31: Govinda Dance Academy, Kathua today organised a mega event to aware masses about drug abuse and its ill effects on the overall growth of the youth and development of the society.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Director, Social Welfare, Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion while Naresh Sharma, president, Municipal Council Kathua was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Dr. Shiv Kumar, retired Deputy Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, Sat Paul Mansotra, president Private Schools Association district Kathua, I.D.Khajuria, social activist, Robin Sharma, president Sarv Dharam Sabha Kathua, Gopal Mahajan, senior BJP leader, Dy. S.P (DAR) Kathua and SHO Kathua, Davinder Singh were the distinguished personalities present on the occasion.
The students of Govinda Dance Academy presented a variety of musical, aerobic and thematic items elucidating the ill-effects of Drug abuse and how our youth can stay away from them by adopting best practices. The students also gave Bhangra and folk prsentations. The informative and beautiful presentations were lauded by the audience which was present in large number despite chilly cold and gave the programme standing ovations repeatedly.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Director Social Welfare in his address appreciated the noble gesture of the Academy and hoped that the organisation will continue to excel in its endeavours.
Naresh Shaema, president Municipal Council, Kathua , Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Director Social Welfare and Robin Sharma, noted social activist then presented mementoes to the performing students and other noted personalities of the town. The Govinda Academy also honoured chief guest and other distinguished personalities.
The event, first of its kind in Kathua was sponsored by Learning Temple School, MHS DAV School, Robin Sharma, Gopal Mahajan, Shakti DJ, Kalibari Kathua, Om Prakash, Dinesh Raj, Gopal Krishan Verma and Som Raj Dalotra.
