SRINAGAR, Jan 1: Former minister and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), president, GA Mir has alleged that Centre was responsible for damage caused to peace and development in the J&K State.
Addressing a convention of Sarpanchs, Panchs and Party delegates at Verinag (Anantnag) today, the JKPCC chief said that wrong policies adopted by the Central Govt will continue to remain source behind deep alienation among the people of J&K. He said that State has suffered immensely due to the unnatural alliance between PDP and BJP which is responsible for the damages caused to peace and development and urged upon the Sarpanchs and Panchs to work hard and ensure development of their Panchayat Halqas at grass-root level.
Mir expressed serious concern over the prevailing situation in the State especially in Valley, saying that law and order problem has worsened to a largest extent due to the lack of policies on the part of Centre Govt about the J&K State.
PDP-BJP showed darkest era of the State, even as they failed to address local issues concerning people on the ground, they have misled and dismayed people for electoral gains, as a result, people have realized they have been betrayed for power on the part of BJP- PDP.
Mir said every democratic institution in the Country is in danger under BJP Rule, it is the bounden duty of the people to save these institutions, which the BJP is trying to use for it’s political benefit, but the Congress Party and people of the country would defeat the designs of BJP-RSS, he said.
Lashing out at BJP for failing to respect the mandate of the people, Mir said people of Jammu gave 25 Assembly seats to BJP, but what happened after the elections is known to the people in Jammu Division both PDP and BJP gave lies and deceit to people in return, Mir said.
On this occasion, Mir urged upon Sarpanchs and Panchs to work hard and ensure development of their Panchayat Halqas at grass root level.
Senior leaders Dr Shakeel Ahmad Khan, Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Gulam Mohi- u- Din, Mohd Iqbal Mir, Mohd Iqbal Ahanger and others also spoke on the occasion.
