Tributes paid to martyred SPO at DPL

PULWAMA, Jan 1: Jammu and Kashmir police today paid tributes to a Special Police Officer (SPO) who got martyrdom today in a militant attack near his home.
A police spokesperson said a wreath laying ceremony was held this evening at District Police Lines (DPL) Pulwama, where floral tributes were paid to SPO Sameer Ahmad Mir, son of Wali Mohd Mir, resident of Hanjin Payeen Rajpora, who gave supreme sacrifice of his life in the militant attack.
“SP Pulwama, Chandan Kohli led other police, civil and army officers in laying floral wreath on the mortal remains of the martyr SPO,” the spokesperson said.
Militants fired upon SPO Sameer Ahmad near his residence in the Hanjan area of Pulwama in south Kashmir. Ahmad was rushed to a hospital, however, the SPO succumbed to his injuries.
