DODA, Jan 3: All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary and Incharge J&K affairs of the party Sudhir Sharma today asked the party workers to gear up for the coming elections in the State.
Addressing party workers and other functionaries here, the AICC leader asked the Congress cadre to gear up their activities and took an initiative to involve common people and party workers at the regional level in party’s policies.
He also criticized BJP for its anti people policies and said that the election results in five states recently has indicated that people like the policies of Congress Party. He hoped that Congress would emerge as stronger in the State.
Yogesh Sawhney, former Minister and general secretary PCC was also present at the meeting. The meeting was marked by party workers expressing their grievances and giving suggestions for the development of the party.
Sudhir Sharma has been especially deputed by the party high command to get a feedback about the functioning of the party in J&K. Sharma welcomed all the suggestions of the party workers at Doda. He openly received feedback from local leaders and workers of Doda to assess the party’s situation at that level. Sharma also encouraged the workers to work hard.
Sawhney appreciated the people who, shared the party’s ideologies, took an initiative to make the party better, also helped it deliver its policies better and meet it’s objectives. He also said that such mobilisation of workers from other parties to Congress exposed PDP-BJP Government’s unduly misrule in J&K.
Former Ministers Mohd Sharief Niaz and Abdul Majid Wani, Sheikh Majib Ali (President DCC Doda) and other local leaders also spoke on the occasion.
