JAMMU, Jan 3: Senior National Conference leader and former MLA Kangan, Mian Altaf has sought immediate release of the pending payments to the contractors who have worked during the Shri Amarnath Yatra period in Baltal base camp.
In a statement, Altaf said that the contractors, most of those who had worked and undertaken various construction works for Public Works Department ( PWD) during the yatra period in Baltal base camp of Ganderbal district have still not been given the payments.
Expressing anguish over the delay in release of the payments to the contractors, the NC leader has asked Government to clear the pending bills of the contractors. He urged the Government to look into the issue and release payments to the contractors without any further delay.
