KARGIL, Jan 3: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today reviewed progress achieved on various developmental works and schemes in the district here at a meeting of concerned officers.
Executive Councillor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Punchoq Tashi, Executive Councillor for Agriculture Zakir Hussain, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sonam Chosjor and Chief Planning Officer Tashi Tundup besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
Issues with regard to present status of sports infrastructure in the district, transfer of land for construction of Kargil Bhawan at Dwarka New Delhi and Girls Hostel at Sidhra Jammu, holding of Ice Hockey Cup 2019, constitution of award committee for Republic Day 2019, issues of education sector, implementation of Samagrah Abhiyan and other related issues came up for discussion.
The CEC said that the development of sports infrastructure will be taken up in 15 schools under for which Rs 20 lakh will be spend under PMDP scheme.
The CEC instructed the concerned officers to identify the schools and come up with the proposals. He further directed the District Youth Services and Sports Officer to put in place all necessary arrangements for the annual CEC Ice Hockey Cup 2019 to be held in the second week of January.
Meanwhile, the meeting decided to appoint an officer to finalize the modalities for taking the possession of land for construction of Kargil Bhawan at Dwarka New Delhi and Girls Hostel at Sidhra Jammu.
The CEC also instructed the officers of PWD to take immediate necessary steps to resolve the issues of the passengers at Kargil House Jammu and Srinagar and submit an action taken report in this regard within one week’s time.
Issues with regard to the implementation of Samagrah Abhiyan in the district also came up for discussion. The CEC instructed the Chief Education Officer to compile a list of the students from the district who would be sent to exposure tour under this scheme.
