JAMMU, Jan 4: A deputation of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers’ Federation (JKLTF) today met with the Deputy Commissioner Reasi and apprised him about the problems being faced by the teaching fraternity.
Led by Pardeep Sharma, State vice president of JKLTF, the deputation discussed with the DC the issue of salary of Masters working under SSA/RMSA schemes in Reasi district. The deputation members told the DC that they had not been paid their salary since August 2018 due to which they have been many hardships.
“We are not able to serve bread and butter to our children and pay their school/college fees. Due to non-payment of our salaries, we and our families are at the verge of starvation and under depression,” they added.
They said that the previous Director School Education Jammu (DSEJ) ordered withdrawal of salary of Masters working under SSA/ RMSA schemes from vacant non-plan posts in the District so that they receive their salary in time but the new Director School Education kept that order withheld which led to discontent and disappointment among the Masters. They further said that their DA arrears are also pending since 2015.
They demanded restoration and proper implementation of earlier order of the Director School Education Jammu and also demanded release of salary of all the Master/teachers working under SSA/RMSA schemes along with release of all the DA/7th Pay commission arrears at par with already granted to other employees.
The Deputy Commissioner Reasi gave a patient hearing and telephonically talked with the Director School Education Jammu over the issue and also assured the deputation that he will personally look into the whole matter and will do the needful.
