KARGIL, Jan 4: In order to take first hand appraisal of the problems, demands and grievances of the people of Sodh area, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal today convened a public darbar at Akchamal.
He was accompanied by the Chief Planning Officer Kargil, Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kargil, Chief Education Officer Kargil, Executive Engineers of various divisions of the PWD, Tehsildar Kargil and other concerned officers.
Various delegations of people present in the public darbar apprised the DC about the problems and issues being faced by them which mainly included the augmentation of water and power supply during the winter season, repair and renovation of irrigation khuls, macadamization of link roads, irrigation khuls and other related demands.
Kundal took sector wise brief from the officers on the issues related to water supply schemes, power supply, Anganwari centres, schools, roads, health centres, livestock, health care, ration supply and gave them on spot instructions for taking necessary measures for early grievance redressal.
Addressing the people, he said that district administration is fully conscious of the problems and issues being faced by the people especially those residing in rural and far off areas.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to people’s issues and assured them that all their genuine demands and concerns would be addressed in a phased manner.
Kundal said that the administration is fully committed to mitigate the problems of the people and the camp has been organized with a view to helping people so that their grievances are mitigated in the shortest possible time.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner underlined the need to establish a mechanism of effective and efficient coordination between the administration and the people.
