#MeToo: Alok Nath granted anticipatory bail in Vinta Nanda rape case

MUMBAI, Jan 5: Actor Alok Nath was on Saturday granted anticipatory bail by Dindoshi Sessions Court pertaining to the rape and sexual harassment case filed by writer-producer Vinta Nanda.
The hearing for the bail application filed by the actor was held on December 26. However the Court reserved its judgement for the next hearing.
Writer Vinta Nanda added to the string of #MeToo cases, when in a social media post she levelled rape allegations against the actor by using metaphor ‘Sanskari’ for Mr Nath. Based on the complaint,the Mumbai Police registered a case against Mr Nath under relevant sections of the penal code on November 21,2018.
