UDHAMPUR, Feb 1: Police today arrested an absconding Government teacher, who was involved in a rape case in Basantgarh, tehsil Ramnagar.
Police spokesman said that, a married woman was allegedly raped by Government teacher in Basantgarh area of the district on January 10.
Her husband Ashok Kumar filed a complaint with Basantgarh police station that a Government teacher identified as Hartesh Chander, posted at Government Higher Secondary School, Basantgarh, raped his wife, when he was out of station, he added.
In the complaint, he said that, the accused barged into his house, when his wife was alone and raped her, spokesman added.
A case under FIR number 2/13 under Section 376 RPC has been registered at Basantgarh police station and manhunt was launched to arrest the accused.
On specific inputs, police party from Basantgarh police station apprehended the accused, spokesman said, adding that further investigation into the case in going on.
