Vaid commissions residential qtrs at Gulshan Ground

JAMMU, Feb 1: Jammu and Kashmir Police is upgrading its building infrastructure to provide living and working facilities to its personnel. Various residential and office accommodations have been constructed across the State to strengthen the building infrastructure under the modernization scheme.
This was disclosed by the Additional Director General of Police Headquarters (ADGP), S. P. Vaid while commissioning the residential block at Gulshan Ground here this morning. He said that in view of the increasing manpower, the organization has been focussing to upgrade the facilities for its personnel as per the latest requirements.
He said that residential accommodation was a dire need for the staff and with the completion of the Block 32 families have been accommodated in the new building.
Before commissioning the building, the ADGP was briefed by DIG, (Administration), R. P. Resutora, AIG (Provision) Aftab Ahmed Kakroo and Executive Engineer, Police Construction Division, N. D. Khawaja about the facilities and the material provided for the construction of the building.
He was told that the accommodation is having latest facilities of living which could ease the hardships of the personnel. He was also told that the work has been completed at a cost of Rs. 1.5 crore within a record period of six months.
Later, Mr. Vaid along with other officers and engineers inspected the residential quarters and interacted with the inmates. He asked them to maintain the accommodation properly and ensue hygiene around the quarters.
