Cong denied rights to 5300 PoJK refugee families: Dr Singh

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 5: Those who are themselves responsible for throwing out 5300 families are now beating the drums, stated Dr. Narinder Singh, State general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir while reacting to frequent statements by Congress for refugees from Pakistan occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK).
Dr. Narinder Singh, while reacting sharply to the visit of Congress leaders to “Dharna-Pradarshan” site said that only BJP has taken stand to empower the PoJK refugees with an empathetic approach. He said that “land deficiency compensation” was paid by NDA Government headed by Atal Behari Vajpayee , taking due recognition of the issue, but Congress didn’t cash the opportunity for the reasons best known to them, thus the resources remained unutilized and the benefit to the tunes of Rs 50 Crore could not be given to the targeted population.
Dr. Singh, said that now the NDA Government headed by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi allotted Rs 2000 crore for the PoJK refugees. He insisted that the present allotted fund is only the tip of iceberg and is essentially only 1st allotment to provide the relief to the sufferers of the then tragedy. After the judicious utilization of the present funds by the enforcing agency, more liberal funds are to follow, he said.
Dr. Singh, said that BJP has always voiced its concerns for refugees, and sooner or later, the whole issue of refugees will only be addressed by the BJP and its leadership. Gone are the days, when Congress and other political parties used them making false and misleading statements, now the truth speaks in volumes and public is well aware that only Modi led BJP stands with them. He also assured the PoJK refugees that BJP will address every single issue of those displaced people from their dear homeland.
Dr. Singh, further said that in 1971, Congress deliberately ousted the 5300 refugee families from the list who from J&K migrated to other parts of the country, which was clearly a vicious attack on their basic rights. Congress has to answer for the sins, it has committed for over 70 years, by suppressing those families and choking every voice which stood against it. For 70 long years, Congress has played appeasement policy and used the common masses as its petty vote bank, but the aware voter of today’s India will reply to them in befitting manner, Dr. Singh said.
